"I am glad I married into the family in time to see our kids playing with Dorsey and Carolyn and the chickens and horses and dogs on the farm. We are all greatful for the fun memories."

"Thank you Dorsey for always being so glad to see friends new or old. For making them feel special with your smiles and your words. Thank you for the pearls of wisdom sprinkled in the humor! Thank you for sharing your love of Jesus with everyone you met. Thank you for exemplifying a Godly husband and father. Thank you for modeling a life well and completely lived."

"We remember Dorsey and his love for his Lord, his family, and his church.
"His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'" Matt.25:21
God be with you all."

"Paul was a coworker of Dorsey's for many years. He & Carolyn were quick to befriend us as a couple upon our arrival here, & invited us to eat with them. Later, when we had children, he was very interested in them, always wanting me to bring them to the school to visit so he could keep up with their development & growth. He would make just the funniest faces & noises to get them to laugh out loud! Later when they were older, he always made them feel very special. Once Jack told me, "Mr. Derrick thinks I'm a smart kid." Joe said "Did you know Mr. Derrick has lots of jokes?" Now, that comment made me feel a little nervous because Joe was known to have quite a few jokes, too, some of which had come from the firehall. I always wondered what joke Joe had told Dorsey to bring about that comment.
Carolyn, children, & grandchildren--just know this man was loved by so many, impacted the lives of so many, & will not be forgotten by just as many. Thanks for sharing him with so many of us.

"Just as I would have expected, there are many lovely messages to Dorsey's family because of his great service to the communities where he lived and worked . He will be missed by many, but there is comfort in knowing he is at peace with his Maker. May your good memories, family & friends, and your Faith bring you comfort and strength in the coming days. God Bless each of you!"

"Dorsey was a great friend to our family. We met Dorsey when our daughter was in his class at school and then through church. That grew into a true, lasting friendship. Bob and Dorsey shared a lot of common interests in farming, cattle and horses. They would talk for hours about these interests. Dorsey had a great sense of humor and was a very wise man.
We will sincerely miss Dorsey, our thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn and their family.
