Lafeyette Fredrick "L.F." Hull, 82 of Greenfield, formerly of the Thayer area, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at Greenfield Manor in Greenfield, Iowa. Services will be Monday February 11, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Powers Funeral Home 612 N. Dodge in Afton. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Ellston Cemetery, with military rites by John B. Parks Afton VFW #8882. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. service time Monday at the Powers Funeral Home 612 N. Dodge in Afton. Memorials are to the family to be determined. Online condolences may be made under the obituary category at www.powersfh.com.
Lafeyette Fredrick "L.F." Hull was born January 13, 1931 in rural Union County, Iowa to Walter Hull and Mary (Perry) Hull. He attended rural school graduating the 8th grade. On December 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to Priscilla Ann Fenton in Corydon, Iowa. After marriage they settled in Mt. Ayr and he served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1952-1954. They later lived in Des Moines, Osceola, and the Oak Hill area south of Thayer before moving into Thayer. Upon retirement they settled in Mt. Ayr.
Survivors include six children: Lynette (husband Ed) Cose of Orient, Bill (wife Donna) Hull of Wichita, KS, Kevin (wife Linda) Hull of Creston, Julia "Annie" (husband Larry) Gregory of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., Lori (husband Rick) McDonald of Ackworth and Gregory (wife Laurie) Hull of Creston; two brothers, Lyle (wife Arnolene) Hull of Mt. Ayr and Larry Hull of Mt. Ayr; one brother-in-law, Ed Maine; one sister-in-law, Maggie Hull; twenty grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Lafeyette was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Hull in 2009, his parents, Walter and Mary Hull, two sons, Stephen and Ray Hull and his father and mother-in-law, Berl and Viola Fenton.
