Connie Fizer, 64, of Creston, formerly of Lorimor, died Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Powers Funeral Home junction of highways 34 and 25 in Creston. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be at the Lorimor Cemetery. Open visitation will be 1-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday February 19, 2012, at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials may be made to either Orient Baseball League or the Summit House Apartments. Online condolences may be made under the obituary category at www.powersfh.com.
Connie Jean (Woodley) Fizer, daughter of Bettie Jean (Nitzsche) and Ronald George Woodley, was born September 15, 1947 in Creston, Iowa. She graduated from Orient Macksburg High School in 1965. On December 19, 1964, Connie was united in marriage to Roger Dean Fizer in Lorimor, Iowa. They first settled in Creston where she worked as an active homemaker. Later in 1966 they moved to Lorimor where she continued to be an active homemaker and mother. She later began working as a seamstress for Mother Lode Ski Apparel and Winnebago Industries before starting a small home based business as a seamstress. During the 1970's and 1980's she was very involved as a softball coach and as a 4H leader. In 2007 she moved back to Creston where she worked at I Think I Can Day Care until she retired in 2008.

Survivors include three daughters: Teresa Reiste of Olathe Kan., Jackie (husband Terry) Fizer-Giles of Alliance, Neb. and Jamie (husband J.D.) Holste of Orient, Ia.; two sons: Jeff Fizer (partner Phil Noel) of Chicago, Ill. and Tony Fizer of Creston; a sister Peggy (husband Carl) Kirkland of Lorimor, Ia.; six grandchildren, many other family and friends. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roger in 2000.
